YS Falls is located near Jamaica’s South coast and is part of a river which comes out of limestone caves and springs, high up in Breadnut Valley, St. Elizabeth. And it is one of seven waterfalls located within the area. The YS River is the main tributary of the great Black River, the longest navigable river in Jamaica and also the widest.

A small group went with me on a trip there and they were captivated by the serene natural beauty of the scenery. As we strolled through the park, we read a little history before moving on to the natural pools area where the waterfalls naturally cascades into.

There were several pool sections but the falls were where the team wanted to visit first before settling down in the ‘easy’ section. That gave us a laugh and we quickly obliged them.

The photos that we took were ones that they’ll enjoy until we hope to see them come back again, next time around. For now though, take a look…
